Instant mood lift, windows down :)

Peppy, catchy, happy song about going to the Zoo. There are several versions of this song online (including a popular one by Raffi that says “Mommy’s taking us to the zoo tomorrow”) but Amy Liz’s version is what we discovered on Spotify autoplay and seems to get recommended more often. Her voice is bold, clear and more celebratory with a rock-like feel with a drum beat and chorus. It also has more realistic animal sounds (e.g. a loud cheerful elephant trumpet), which is always a hit. Everytime it plays, he wants to take his own Elephant soft toy to the zoo to introduce him to his ilk.

How can anyone not be moved by this song, so endearing. The intro squeal gets him excited. “Baby balooda song!”

The companion book was in the “free books bin” at the library, and we read the book at least 20 or 30 times and found it funny before we discovered that it’s based on a song :) Now whenever he spots the book, he wants to flip the pages while listening to the song.

The call and response format of the song is truly unique, and yet comprehensible to a toddler. Every single word is simple, sung clearly.

There are hundreds of fire truck songs out there (trust us, we’ve listened to all of them) but none as catchy as this one.
